Peer & Record Review

Involving a thorough review of an individual’s medical records and other relevant information focusing on injury development, past medical and surgical history, and subsequent outcomes of a treatment, a peer review takes place when an in person medical evaluation is not possible or required and questions are raised regarding an injury, diagnosis, level of impairment, or appropriateness of medical treatment. During a Records review, the subject is not physically examined by a provider. Instead, the physician answers specific questions submitted by the party requesting the review as part of a written report.
